TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Arguably the most famous on-air personality in Wabash Valley radio says he’s retiring.
Barry Kent, a long-time voice on HI-99 WTHI-FM, made it official on his blog earlier Tuesday.
Kent’s career spans 45 years, including 32 at HI-99.
We asked former newsman Martin Plascak what set Barry Kent apart from other radio personalities.
“He did everything the right way,” said Plascak. “He had a good personality on the air. He could talk. He knew what he was talking about, very into his music.”
Barry Kent’s last day on Hi-99 will be July 16th.
We wish Barry the best in his retirement!
