Officials investigate fire at the Air Guard Base


TERRE HAUTE, Ind – No one was injured and no hazardous materials were released when the Terre Haute fire department responded to fire alarm here June 24, 2014 at approximately 9:30 a.m.

“The Wing followed standard pre-established procedures when reporting the small fire,” stated Col Patrick Renwick, 181st Intelligence Wing vice commander.

Base civil engineers worked with local fire fighters to determine the building was safe to continue normal operations.

“Our thanks go out to the Terre Haute Fire Department for their rapid response,” stated Renwick.

The Wing’s missions were not interrupted during the incident and no structural damage has been discovered.

“The Wing has begun an investigation in conjunction with the local fire department,” stated Renwick. “We will release the details as soon as we have the information.”
