Name released in Knox County fatal fire

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Officials have released the name of the person killed in the fire in Knox County on Thursday.

The preliminary cause released by the Knox County Coroner Gordon Becher stated Daniel Toth, 50 of Vincennes, died of smoke inhalation.

At about 10:12 Thursday morning firefighters were dispatched to a pole barn fire on 2632 S. Sievers extension road. When crews arrived they had a working fire.

“Upon investigation we did find an individual in the building and at this time the coroner’s office is working the case, based upon the individual we found inside the building,” said Vincennes Township Fire Deputy Chief, Eddie King. “At this time it is determined to be a fatal fire.”
