Vincennes police arrest 7 in weekend incident

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) – Vincennes police arrested 7 people Saturday following a report of loud noises and doors slamming. A press release provided by police did not provide an address, only listed that officers were called to a complaint at an apartment.

Officers stated they smelled what they believed to be marijuana at the residence, which subsequently led to police obtaining a search warrant. A search of the apartment, police said, led to the finding of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The following suspects were arrested in connection with the incident:

  • Ashley Deckard, 29, of Vincennes was charged with dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, neglect of a dependent.
  • Erin Ashlee, 19 of Vincennes, was charged with neglect of a dependent and visiting a common nuisance
  • Eric Hazelett, 32, of Vincennes, was charged with visiting a common nuisance.
  • Octavious Rapier, 23, of Gary, was charged with visiting a common nuisance.
  • Keisha Jewell, 30, of Evansville, was charged with visiting a common nuisance.
  • Jason Edwards, 29, of Gary was charged with visiting a common nuisance.
  • Kaylin Taylor, 25, of Vincennes was charged with dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

According to police, all suspects were transported to the Knox county jail.
