Good Samaritan Hospital clears the air in new policy

Good Samaritan Hospital Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) – Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes announced Tuesday its campus would become tobacco free August 1. The effort will transition the hospital’s campus into a ‘full non-smoking and tobacco use campus.’

“Our strategic plan includes Beacons of Community Excellence and Employee Excellence to improve the health of communities
we serve,” states Rob McLin, President and CEO. “Requiring a fully tobacco free hospital and workplace reflects these directives and recognizes our promise to provide a healthy atmosphere to our employees, patients and the community.”

Hospital administrators say the new non-tobacco policy implementation will create a safer, healthier working environment.
