Man charged in July 4 stabbing

CARLISLE, Ind. (WTHI) – A Sullivan County man now learns his charges after a stabbing on July 4th.

It happened around 10:20 Friday night.

Police responded to a stabbing in Carlisle, Ind. where they arrested 33-year-old Andrew Elmore.

Reports say the incident started when Elmore became upset that 20-year-old Tucker Hancock was lighting fireworks. The two men separated for a short time. Police say Elmore returned and stabbed Hancock twice in the chest.

Hancock was taken to Sullivan County Community Hospital. He was later airlifted to Methodist in Indianapolis.

His injuries are unknown at this time.
