Daycare owner: ‘Just happy no kids were hurt’

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Around 4:30 Tuesday morning, police and emergency crews responded to a one vehicle accident on 19th and Washington in Terre Haute.

They found a Mitsubishi Lancer flipped over on its side.

That vehicle hit the front porch of Learner Ladder Daycare doing minor damage to the building and gasoline was also leaking.

“Just happy no kids were hurt,” explained Patricia Bumphus, daycare owner.

One female passenger was taken from the scene by ambulance with unknown injuries but the male driver and a male passenger fled the scene.
