Terre Haute man sentenced to 25 years

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The second of three people charged in connection to a man’s death is off to prison.

Marteail Brewer will spend 25 years in prison after a judge accepted his plea deal Thursday morning.

Ronald Arrowsmith died last November in an armed robbery gone wrong. Police say Arrowsmith, Brewer, Damien Tyler and Amber Reynolds lured Cody Thompson and his girlfriend into a home on First Avenue to rob him.

They say when Arrowsmith pointed a gun at Thompson’s girlfriend, Thompson shot him several times.

Police called the shooting on Thompson’s part self-defense. However, prosecutors held Arrowsmith’s three co-conspirators responsible for the death.

Court dates for Tyler are still in the works.

Reynolds is already serving a 20 year sentence.
