TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Start your engines!
Bob Warn Field was packed this afternoon, but not with baseball teams, more like antique cars.
It was part of the 2014 Cruise-In and Car Show. It is a fundraiser to raise money for cancer research at St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
Local officials were able to get in on the fun too. Mayor Duke Bennett, Fire Chief Jeff Fisher and Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton served as guest judges.
Raising money for the cause could not be done without support from the Wabash Valley. In the last 20 years, over 1 million dollars has been raised to donate to research for the hospital.
“This is very important, we’re trying to raise money to cure childhood cancer,” says Eric Michaels, program director for HI-99, “We are doing what we can to help kids all around the world”.
