Celebrity musician comes to Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Live music isn’t hard to find weekly at The Verve Nightclub in downtown Terre Haute.

However, it isn’t every day that a big name comes to town.

Famous country star Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, brought his band Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real to town on Wednesday. It isn’t the first time that Nelson has come to Terre Haute to play. He’s played at The Verve before as well as the Blues at the Crossroads Festival.

He says that the goal of his music is for people to have a good time and dance.

“We’ve been here more than a few times now,” Nelson said. “Not much I can say except that the town is great. It’s a small town feel and everybody comes out to have fun and I always feel comfortable and at home.”

Nelson said that while his music is technically rock ‘n’ roll, it has a nice Latin beat to it that people can dance along with.
