AJ Reed awarded Golden Spikes Award

WABASH VALLEY, Ind. (WTHI) – Former Terre Haute South star AJ Reed was awarded the Golden Spikes Award.

He is the first University of Kentucky player to win this award and he is also the first baseball player ever from Indiana to win the Golden Spikes Award.

Past Golden Spike Award winners include Will Clark, Robin Ventura, David Price, Buster Posey and Bryce Harper.

Reed and Price are the only players in college baseball history to win all five Player of the Year awards in a single season.

AJ Reed joins David Price (07), Dave Magadan (83) as the only three players in SEC history to be college baseball unanimous National Player of the Year.
