Officials report man breaks into correctional facility

CARLISLE, Ind. (WTHI) – Officials are reporting a man staying in Sullivan County was trespassing on the grounds of the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility Tuesday.

Near the end of her shift, a Correctional Officer spotted Noel Mendoza-Huerta, 32, on WVCF grounds near the K-9 building.

She reported Mendoza-Huerta ran towards Carlisle when she tried to approach him.

A Motor Patrol Officer checked the K-9 building and discovered a door had been compromised. WVCF Emergency Squad members, on grounds for training, were called in to service.
