TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – School may not start until August for Vigo County students, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t getting a head start on school projects.

Vigo County high school students recently finished building their first house.

Its part of their building trades program.

These students will receive dual college credit and industry certification opportunities.

Directors say construction was not the only focus of this project.

“Our business isn’t construction, our business is to develop the next generation of contractors, the next generation of plumbers, the next generation of electricians,” Doug Dillion, CTE Director from the Vigo County School Corporation said.

The three bedroom, two bathroom house is currently for sale.
