Clay County man behind bars accused of strangling his own father


CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A Clay County man is behind bars, accused of strangulation.

On Wednesday afternoon, the resident of a house in southern Clay County called police saying her son, Christopher Steuerwald was irate and choking his own father.

The father said Steueresld choked him, and starting beating on his DBS generator that helps control the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

By the time police arrived, Steuerwald left the house.

Police later located him just south of the residence.

Steuerwald was taken into custody without incident, and is being held in the Clay County Justice Center.

He is charged with Strangulation, Battery with Bodily Injury and Criminal Trespassing.
