Judge wants Tanoos, Ray, Hayden cases resolved

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A Vigo County case where prosecutors contend a 14 year old girl was sexually assaulted by two men is no closer to being resolved.  Peter Tanoos II, Tucker Ray, and Christopher Hayden all face charges in connection to an incident that happened in a Terre Haute hotel room in June 2013.  The three men arrested and charged in this case found themselves back in a courtroom Thursday afternoon.

This case created a lot of outrage when Tanoos, Ray and Hayden were initially arrested.  The judge presiding over these cases says it’s time to get them resolved.

The incident at the center of this case happened in June of 2013 at a Terre Haute hotel room that Ray reserved.  Court documents indicate that the female victim in this case was given gummy bears laced with Xanax, and she also consumed alcohol.  She claims she was sexually assaulted by Tanoos and Ray, while Hayden is accused of capturing the incident on video.

Judge Michael Rader heard from Special Prosecutor Lee Reberger, who said plea deals have been offered, but that no agreements are in place.  Trial dates for Ray and Tanoos were set for October 7th and November 18th respectively.  They also have pre-trial conferences set, which will act as deadlines for when a plea deal will be accepted by Judge Rader.  As for Hayden’s case, he has separate charges pending in Clark County, Indiana.  He’ll be back before Judge Rader on September 18th.
