Test pool positive for West Nile in Greene County

BLOOMFIELD, Ind. (WTHI) – A mosquito pool in Greene County, Indiana has tested positive for the West Nile Virus, health department officials confirm.

Environmental Health Specialist Mark Miller told News 10 mosquito test pool was collected July 16.

In a transmission from the Indiana Department of Health released to County Health Departments Tuesday, 17 mosquito test pools have came back positive for West Nile Virus. Miller explained to News 10, 13 counties reported the pools; which means one county reported more than one positive pool.

In the News 10 viewing area, Greene County and Sullivan County reported West Nile Virus in test pools.

According to the State Health Department, 1,277 mosquito pools had been tested. As of Tuesday afternoon, Vigo County had not reported positive tests for West Nile Virus.
