Two vehicle crash leaves one person seriously injured

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A two vehicle crash in Sullivan County leaves one person with serious injuries.

It happed Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 at US 41 and State Road 58.

Police say 61-year-old Robert King from Terre Haute was driving a dump truck northbound on 41, when a car being driven by 83-year-old Colleen Kennedy from Carlisle pulled into the path of the dump truck.

Kennedy was transported to Sullivan County Community Hospital, and then airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for what appears to be head injuries and fractures.

Her injuries appear to be serious.

Police say Kennedy was not wearing a seatbelt. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

King was not injured, but was wanted on a warrant for probation violation in Vigo County.

King was transported to the Vigo County jail.
