INDIANA (WTHI) – Southern Indiana Red Cross officials say they’re seeing a blood shortage and your donations can save lives.
Red Cross staffers say donations have been down since July 4. They believe people get busy in the summer and forget to give.
“We need to keep so much blood in the shelf to have available in case of emergencies, and to meet the needs of the hospitals, our region covers like 33 counties I believe for blood, and so, we always have to make sure we collect so much everyday to meet all those needs,” explained Sheryl Ring-Laakmaan, American Red Cross.
If you would like to donate you can find upcoming blood drives listed here on their website!
