BRAZIL, Ind. (WTHI) – Due to the construction going on in Brazil on U.S. Highway 40, traffic is being re-routed to prevent long delays.
The Brazil City Police Department stated on Friday that the heaviest traffic times during the noon hour and between 4 – 6 p.m.
For this reason east bound traffic will be diverted onto Jackson Street from U.S. 40 beginning at Timberland on the west end of town.
West bound traffic will be diverted onto National Avenue from Depot Street to Dairy Queen. There will still be some traffic travelling west on Jackson, but they are asking that if you are going west towards Terre Haute that you use National Avenue instead of Jackson.
There will be officers at both ends of the construction zones for assistance and/or questions.
