TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Basketball all-stars took to the court on Saturday at the Booker T. Washington Community Center.
Local middle schoolers took part in the tournament that helps them create positive relationships with other kids from around the Wabash Valley.
Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett stated it is important for kids to take part in events like this one.
“It’s just fun to watch the kids get out here, and really there’s some pretty good talent out here, so you know they’re working their way up to high school and college ball hopefully,” he explained. “So it’s just good to see them out here working hard, playing against some really good competition, and everybody having a little fun.”
Bennett also said the players at the tournament on Saturday were very talented and he always thinks it is good to see kids playing some Indiana basketball.
