SILVER LAKE, Ind. (AP) — Divers have recovered the body of a Fort Wayne woman from a northern Indiana lake.

Indiana Conservation Officer Jonathon Boyd says the body of 38-year-old Natalie Zellers was recovered Saturday evening at Silver Lake, about 40 miles west of Fort Wayne.

Boyd says Zellers fell off the front of a boat and didn’t resurface. He says her husband tried to rescue her but was unable to.

Three hours later, conservation officers located her body on the bottom of the lake in water 22 feet deep. Boyd says the woman had taken off a life preserver after she finished swimming and climbed onto the boat.
