INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Joe Hogsett is putting together a campaign for Indianapolis mayor.
The Democrat who stepped down as U.S. Attorney last week revealed his plans first in an interview with sister station WISH-TV Political Reporter Jim Shella Monday morning.
Hogsett conducted the interview at the downtown law firm of Bose, McKinney and Evans, where he is now a partner.
Hogsett said he will file the paperwork to create an exploratory committee either this week or next.
He is not ready to announce his candidacy yet, but already has plans to hire a campaign manager. It will be Thomas Cook, an experienced Democratic operative who worked for Hogsett in the U.S. Attorney’s office.
