Cause of Monday night fire released

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – We now know the cause of a late night fire in Terre Haute.

It happened just after 11:00 Monday night.

Fire crews were called to a home on Orleans Street.

That’s on Terre Haute’s north side.

Emergency responders treated one person for minor burns at the scene.

Fire Chief Jeff Fisher says an electrical wall outlet shorted out and caught a couch on fire.
