TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Baseball teams for the Great Lakes National Regional are arriving in Terre Haute.
Seven teams are in town this weekend for the tournament.
Those teams include players from Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana.
Players, parents, and fans are filling area hotels, making it a busy weekend for Terre Haute.
“It’s full of kids primarily, but there are a lot of other people coming in town that will utilize a lot of our other hotels in town here. So, it’s a big economic boom. I think they figured, over a two year period, it is worth $1 million for the community,” John Hayes, a representative for the tournament said.
Hayes says it’s very exciting for the players and coaches.
Sports 10 will start the coverage this weekend, leading up to the final this Monday.
