TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – One local community is reporting they are afraid after two elderly women and a daycare were robbed.
No arrests have been made but a neighbor claims to know who is behind the break-ins and the person was even caught on camera!
Keith Allison’s mother and aunt live on North 16th Street in Terre Haute. He believes they are both being targeted.
“They know that they’re elderly woman and they know they’re home and they hit and run,” he explained.
Just after 4 a.m. on Wednesday Keith received a phone call from his mother, Geraldine Allison, stating she had been robbed.
“They’re after the pills and money and they got mom’s pain pills,” Keith stated.
Geraldine was sound asleep when someone kicked-in her back door. You can still see busted glass and a broken frame.
Keith explained that his mother is deaf – so she had no idea someone was walking through her home and rummaging through her medicine cabinet.
But, this was not the first home in the neighborhood that had been robbed.
Just next door Betty Allison’s home was also ‘targeted.’
“They tried to bust in the door or pry it open and they busted out two windows,” Keith described. “But they didn’t’ get in my aunt’s house. They got in the daycare across the street that night and we have him on video!”
The daycare that was broken in to just happen to have surveillance videos and that video showed a clear image of a male suspect.
“We’ve known him all of our life,” Keith continued. “We’ve known him all his life – put it that way.”
Neighbors in that area state the scariest part of this situation would be the suspect they believe is doing this also has the guts to stick around after the deed is done.
“The kid asked her how she was doing and she knew who he was,” Keith described.
The Terre Haute Police Department states they are currently investigating this case.
