Back in June, police received a tip about possible animal neglect at 512 and 514 Croft Road in Coal City.

After getting a search warrant, police found rabbits and guinea pigs living in squalid conditions inside of an abandoned house trailer and inside of an outdoor tarp roofed structure.

Police say there was an extreme smell of urine, and about five to six inches of feces covering the cage floors.

In total, police recovered 35 rabbits and two guinea pigs.

The animals were taken to the Helping Pawz Animal Rescue and Outreach.

Jimmy and Stacey Ornduff are being held in the Vigo County Jail.
