Eli Lilly’s Elanco plant in Terre Haute closing in 2016

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Eli Lilly’s Elanco plant in Terre Haute announced Wednesday they will be closing sometime in 2016.

Ed Sagebiel, a spokesperson for Eli Lilly, stated the decision was made to discontinue production at the Terre Haute location and it is not influenced by current performance. The site, which is located at 1445 S. First Street in Terre Haute, is hoping to consolidate to a single site.

The 23 employees currently there have all be offered jobs at Eli Lilly’s Elanco location in Clinton. Sagebiel stated those employees who accept that offer will have similar job titles and a similar pay.

Currently, the Elanco location in Clinton has 500 employees.
