Arrest made in 17th and Washington stabbing, suspect appears in court

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Police in Terre Haute have arrested one man they say stabbed another man Wednesday in the area of 17th Street and Washington Streets.

Lewis T. Johnson of Indianapolis was arrested after police say he stabbed Maurice Martin of Terre Haute.

Johnson was taken to the Vigo County jail and made his first court appearance on Thursday. While in and after court Johnson stated he had to do it and he also claimed he was attacked by the victim.
