It happened Thursday morning just before 10:00.

According to officials, 63-year-old Billy Farquer, from Carlisle was traveling on State Road 450 S. when his Ford Ranger left the roadway for an unknown reason.

Police say he took a hard left, going over 100 feet, through a ditch, and at one point went airborne for nearly 55 feet, nearly hitting a pedestrian.

The truck continued another 40 feet, hitting a cement post.

Farquer was pronounced dead after being transported to Greene County General Hospital.

There were no injuries reported for a passenger in the truck, 21-year-old Joseph Sullivan Jr.

Speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
