Local youth center asking for your help

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Now that school is in session, another program is seeing an increase in youth as well.

Ryves Youth Center says more students are using their after school assistance programs.

But with more kids needing help, so does the need for volunteers throughout the whole year.

“We need volunteers, we need tutors. People to come in and help with homework and run science experiments, art classes, music. The other thing is school supplies. We do need that. Most of our children, they just don’t have much,” Jim Pinkstaff from Ryves Youth Center told us.

The youth center also needs donations, including food and school supplies.

If you’d like to help, contact the Ryves Youth Center at (812) 235-1265.
