INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Marion County Sheriff John Layton has fired two jail deputies, according to officials.

The two deputies, Tonya Bradley, a 14-year MCSO employee, and Marceline Daniel-Estil, a 9-year MCSO employee, were assigned to the Jail’s Security Division.

According to the sheriff’s office rules and regulations, “deputies shall not consort with, or in any way fraternize with, persons of known bad character or ill repute in a manner which shall conflict with the duties of the employee or functions of the department.”Officials said the two women were terminated for fraternization with women inmates.

“We evaluate, test and train our Deputies in every aspect of public trust. If one chooses a different direction after being sworn in, I will show them the pathway, out the door,” Sheriff Layton said Friday.

The investigations have been turned over to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a review of possible criminal charges. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
