Incident caused brief lock down for Knox Co. elementary

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) – A Vincennes, Indiana man was arrested early Tuesday after failing to return to Knox County’s work release program. The incident forced Franklin Elementary School to lock down to a brief time.

Police arrested Doug Baker, 27, of Vincennes after they learned he had not returned to the Knox County Work Release facility. Police found the suspect near McKinely Ave. and Montclair Dr; about a block from the elementary school. They say Baker took off, but police were able to catch him a short time later.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department also assisted in the arrest with deputies and a K9 Unit on hand.
