Christopher Bays faces drug-related charges

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The man at the center of two police standoffs faces a multitude of charges after his court appearance.

Christopher Bays was arrested twice on separate standoffs at a home at 9th and Seabury Streets.  On Monday, he was arrested on a warrant for attempted aggravated battery and attempted battery by means of a deadly weapon.

However, the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office has elected to try Bays on drug-related charges, which were filed in connection to the standoffs.  Bays is also charged with dealing and possessing meth, unlawful possession of a firearm and maintaining a common nuisance.

His trial will take place in February.
