Thousands participate in the “happiest 5K on the planet”

Color Run

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – It’s known as the happiest run on the planet.

To kick-off the start of the new school year Indiana State University hosted the Color Run.

Thousands of runners hit the course bright and early on Saturday morning.

The route took runners through ISU’s campus and parts of downtown Terre Haute.

The 5K douses runners from head to toe in different colors at every kilometer.

The university said, “The run was a great way to bring students, families, and the community together at the start of what promises to be another banner year at Indiana State.”

Launched in 2012, the color run has hosted more than 120 events with more than 1.6 million participants.

This year the series is kicking off its new Kaleidoscope Tour.
