Visiting Nurses turn 100


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Wabash Valley nurses are celebrating 100 years today.

The “Visiting Nurses Association” in Terre Haute haS been giving skilled home care to the sick since 1916.

On Thursday, they marked the milestone with a barbecue and an open house.

The event took place at the organization’s headquarters at 400 Eighth Avenue in Terre Haute.

Organizers say today was a way to celebrate everyone’s hard work.

“With the changes in healthcare for us to have been successful for 100 years, it’s a good landmark as far as I’m concerned. I think that’s a wonderful milestone,” CEO of VNA Trudy Rupska said.

The first 100 people to attend today’s event received a free T-Shirt.
