TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Terre Haute’s annual Walk To End Alzheimer’s took place Saturday at the Indiana Veteran’s Memorial Mile.

Last year, the walk raised $94,000 for care, support and research efforts.

Organizers say the cause was well-represented as 600 people came out to participate.

“If you personally don’t have someone affected by it, you know someone who is affected by it,” said Lauren Lay, Development Specialist for the Alzheimer’s Association, “It is something that affects a lot of people in this area and it’s something that isn’t going away anytime soon. So we want to make sure that we’re really relentless against this disease.”

If you or someone you know is affected by Alzheimer’s, you can reach out to the Alzheimer’s Association for support. You can reach the Greater Indiana Chapter at 317-575-9620, or call the 24-hour help hotline at 1-800-272-3900.
