TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vigo County School corporation had a budget hearing Monday night.
One of the top priorities for the school board is paying for the mold cleanup at West Vigo High School.
The bill for cleanup is an estimated $383,964.00.
This expense was a surprise to the board, and therefore wasn’t planned for in the budget. So, school board members are left trying to find a solution.
Leaders request some of the bill be allocated in the Capital Project Emergency Fund.
The bill included carpet and ceiling tile removal, tile installation, HVAC maintenance, air quality test, and mold remediation consulting services.
