Man who allegedly took police on a chase appears in court

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A man who police say led them on a car chase through two counties last week was in court Monday.

Vernon Eversole is facing five charges.

They include resisting law enforcement and criminal recklessness.

The pursuit happened on State Road 63.

It started in Vigo County and then crossed into Sullivan County.

Police say he was traveling close to 100 miles per hour.

They say he crashed the vehicle and ran away.

Several agencies searched for him

Eversole’s case is continued until Thursday morning.

He’s being held on a $35,000 bond.
