VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A trial date is set for a man who police say led them on a car chase through two counties.
Vernon Eversole is facing five charges including resisting law enforcement and criminal recklessness.
The prosecution is also seeking to add a habitual offender charge which could add more jail time if found guilty.
The pursuit happened on State Road 63 on Sept. 15 in Vigo County, but then crossed into Sullivan County. Police report Eversole reached close to 100 miles-per-hour at times during the chase.
Eversole ended up crashing on SR 63, took off on foot, but was located later in the morning hiding in a barn. He had to be treated for his injuries, but was then booked into the Vigo County Jail on Sept. 16.
His trial date has been set for March 7.
