Fork in the Road: Bobbie-Que’s


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Fall festival season is in full swing, and with those events comes great food.

Chief Photojournalist Mike Latta and his Fork in the Road crew caught up with the duo that hits the road every weekend to make great BBQ for hungry crowds!

Bob and Nikki Flak started out cooking for friends and family.

“We started like, eight years ago, we wanted to have a party and we invited a bunch of people over and my husband had built his first smoker at that point, and every year it just got bigger and bigger,” Nikki Flak, owner of Bobbie-Que’s said,

That’s when they took the party on the road.

“It’s so much fun, I mean that’s a big part of it, we have so much fun doing it and going out and meeting all the different people,” Nikki said.

“The jalapeno poppers and the bbq’d bacon balls, we also do a loaded nacho with our nacho cheese and pulled pork on it. And all of our sauces are homemade. Somebody will walk through and have a tray of the nachos and here comes six more people, (saying) I want what they have,” she said.

With food that good, our Fork in the Road team had to put it to the test.
