Council on Domestic Abuse raising awareness on the realities of domestic violence.

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Council on Domestic Abuse has sheltered more than 170 individuals this year in Terre Haute.

So, that’s why CODA is doing what they can to alert the public of the realities of domestic violence.

On Monday morning, Mayor Duke Bennett read a proclamation at the Vigo County Courthouse. Members of CODA dropped a banner, in support of domestic violence awareness month:

“We do a lot of teamwork with other organizations to help prevent some of the same risk factors,” explained Melissa Reed, CODA, Inc. “Because if we can prevent domestic violence, we are going to be preventing child abuse, elderly abuse, animal cruelty, addictions.”
