TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A juvenile was taken into custody Sunday afternoon after a foot pursuit with Terre Haute Police.

THPD officers were called to 9th and Cruft just before 3:15 p.m. for reports of a male subject with a weapon.

When they got there, they found a male wearing all black with a white mask on his head. Officers attempted to make contact with the male, but he took off on foot.

An officer reported seeing a ‘long gun down the back of his pants’ and when the suspect came to a fence, he was seen throwing the gun over the fence before climbing over himself.

The juvenile was located hiding under a porch at 919 South 10th Street and was found to have ammunition on him as well.

Police report the rifle had been altered to remove a portion of the stock and had been recently stolen.

Charges will be pending in Juvenile Court.
