TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A 40-year reunion brings classmates back to the Wabash Valley from across the country.
The Class of 1976 met Saturday at Shrine Hill Country Club.
It was a unique group of former Sarah Scott Middle Schoolers called the “Sweat Hogs.”
It’s rare to hear of a junior high class reunion, especially celebrating 40 years.
Organizer Kristan Williams says it’s like they never missed a beat.
“It’s kind of like time stood still,” Williams said. “Because we see each other and we look a little different, but as soon as we recognize one another, then we’re re-connected. And we laugh and we talk and it’s seamless, so it’s wonderful.”
Williams thinks the middle school reunion is more successful than a high school reunion.
That’s because the “Sweat Hogs” went to different high schools after Sarah Scott.
