PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTH) – A Parke County teenager was hurt after a driver allegedly ran a school bus stop arm.
It happened Monday morning on U.S. 36 east of State Road 59 Bellmore.
Police say a 15-year-old male was crossing the road to get onto the school bus when a 17-year-old female from Roachdale drove past the stopped school bus and hit him with her passenger side mirror.
Police say the lights and stop arm was extended on the school bus.
The boy was taken to Union Hospital in Terre Haute and treated for pain in his side and leg.
He was later released.
The 17-year-old driver that struck the boy was arrested and charged with reckless driving and driving while suspended.
She was later released on a promise to appear.
