Forum allows voters to hear from candidates

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The general election is 27 days away.

Several local organizations want to help you prepare for the big day.

Members of the League of Women Voters of Vigo County wanted to do their part.

That’s why they held a candidate forum on Tuesday night.

Potential voters gathered at the Vigo County Public Library to hear what candidates had to say.

Organization leaders say events like this are important to informing the public.

“These candidates are going to be the ones making the decision on a local level…those candidates. Those we have voted in office, they will be making the decisions that have an impact on day to day life…more so than the national elections,” Carolyn Callecod, the President of Women Voters in Vigo County said.

The forum featured candidates for the county clerk, judges, commissioners, and council members.
