TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A 91-year-old who served with the US Marines in Okinawa during World War II will make the trip of a lifetime this weekend. And he’ll make it with his son.
David Dragon said his son, Dick, and his wife came across an organization called “Honor Flight.” David told News 10 a neighbor went on a flight last month. The non-profit organization flies veterans to Washington D.C. For David, it will be his first-ever trip to our nation’s capital. He’s excited he and Dick will have a memorable day together.
“When I had the opportunity to spend a whole day with him, it meant the world to me, and I found out it meant the world to him,” said David. “We’re going to have a good time!”
David’s Honor Flight leaves on Saturday. Here’s a link to Indy Honor Flight.
