TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Despite technology, the polls don’t run themselves.
Workers are needed at polling places in Vigo County.
If you are interested in helping, you have two options.
One involves working 13 hours on election day, the other option is six straight days of six-hour shifts.
These positions are paid.
The voter registration office says finding people to be involved with this civic service is difficult.
“When we went to vote centers it made it a lot easier. We went from needing almost 1,000 people to just needing a couple hundred now, so that helped a lot…but it’s still very hard to find these people that want to step up, especially for the week long,” Vada Long from the Vigo County Board of Voter Registration said.
