Group hosts forum to help educate voters on school board election

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – Several positions on the Vigo County School Board are up for election this year.

On Thursday, there was a forum so voters could hear from the candidates.

Citizens of Action hosted the event.

Candidates talked about the overall health and safety of schools, inequality issues, and school board accountability.

COA members tell us this kind of forum is vital to being informed.

“For many people, it comes a few days before the election and scrounging to see who is on the ballot or going in and not knowing who is on the ballot…let alone knowing name ‘A’ from name ‘B’ and what the positions are,” T.J. Hellmann from Citizens of Actions said.

Hellmann told us eight candidates participated in the forum.
