TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A much-anticipated park opening in Vigo County will now include a candidate for Vice President of the United States.
Griffin Bike Park officially opens Saturday morning.
The park honors the memory of Dale Griffin, a local sergeant in the US Army who died in Afghanistan in 2009.
Now, Indiana Governor Mike Pence has announced he and his wife will be part of the grand opening celebration of the bike park on Saturday.
The Republican Vice Presidential candidate and Mrs. Pence even plan to ride their bikes on one of the trails.
The park’s ribbon cutting is at 11:00 Saturday morning.
