Both drivers treated for injuries after a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 40 and Hunt Street

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office reports two people were treated for injuries after an accident Monday evening at U.S. 40 and Hunt Street.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. and involved two vehicles.

Officials report a 19-year-old from Terre Haute was stopped for a red light at Hunt Street. She stated that just as the light turned green, she was rear ended by a Nissan passenger car. That vehicle was driven by a 24-year-old from Brazil.

Both drivers were taken to Regional Hospital for their injuries. A passenger was released from the scene without injury.

VCSO reports both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
